We just bought a refurb computer on NewEgg for our router.
I know that Wifi can affect machine performance, so I was wondering if adding a Wifi adapter to our computer will affect our cutting when we have the machine running with Mach3.
I don't want there to be any glitches, but at the same time, I'd like to be able to surf while cutting so I'm not bored out of my brain on long jobs.
Thanks!

Re: Wifi on Router PC?
It's not so much having the computer connected to the internet that is the issue it's using it for something else while it's running a job.
Once a job is running you shouldn't do anything else on the computer. If you want to surf while cutting better to buy a cheap android tablet or similar.

I hadn't thought of that.
I won't do ANYTHING else on that computer, then.
Thanks!

Re: Wifi on Router PC?
I've always had mine connected to my WiFi network - it's how I transfer files from my design computer to my machine computer. It's also really handy for updates, etc., but as Adrian stated, don't be doing anything else while cutting. One thing to keep in mind, though - make sure all automatic updates or other scheduled tasks are disabled.
