Hi all,
I'm interested in buying a set of 4 casters for the bottom of my wood router with those built in "feet" like you see on the climbing ladders as Lowes? You roll around the unit, then you step on a lever and it sets down a permenant "foot" to stabilize the unit? Anyone know the proper name for these?
My router really bounces around while running and I'd like it to be stationary.
Thanks for your help-
Dave

Check out McMaster Carr. You can either get self locking casters or brakes like this http://www.mcmaster.com/#floor-brakes/=cqeq3c.

Hello Dave,
I have not checked prices or shipping but here is a link to a Brazil mfg for casters that might work:
http://www.schioppa.com.br/en/practical ... ke-options
The FF/RTR C category lists a Shoe Brake caster that seems close to your description.

Re: Casters with feet?
Thanks so much, fellas, the footmasters are gorgeous, but salty, plus not really liking the small diameter wheels on those.
Wes, those are pretty sharp, nice find-
I already do have the locking casters on all 4, but it stills wobbles around a bit. I'm thinking maybe I should switch ideas and go with something like a screw foot that can actually be lowered as a stabilizer "foot", in turn raising the wheels off the ground.
I appreciate all your time but I'm afraid those casters are not going to be "cheap" enough for me
Thanks,
Dave

Re: Casters with feet?
Hi Dave,
I have been thinking about the same thing...but how about casters and separate feet? My table already sits on casters, but I would like to keep the table level and stable at the same time. So I have been thinking about adding these leveler legs (from Woodcraft or Amazon):
http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/200398 ... oot-4.aspx
I envision adding separate mini legs so that these levelers can be raised to allow moving the table on the casters. And once in position, these leveler legs can be cranked down to stabilize and level the table.
