How would I change the number of files that can be veiwed of recent files.
Sometimes I like to borrow something from a project I worked on recently.

Hi Michael,

The size of the recently used file list can't currently be changed.

hi michael

i wanted some same...
you have a recent folder on your computer... in win95 and older win versions was exist a recent files menu...

1.Open Windows Explorer (my computer)
2.Click on Local Disc (C:)
3.Select Documents and Settings
4.Select your user
5.Click on Tools on the menu bar, then select Folder Options
6.In the new window, select View
7.In this new list, look for the option “show hidden files and folders” and check it, then press OK
8.In your current folder, now you’ll see a new option called My Recent Documents. Double click on it, and you’ll see your recent documents list.
9.If you want to find it easier, you can assign a shortcut for it on your Desktop
(Right click on My Recent Documents, choose Send to, choose Desktop (create shortcut).

in the window, you will find only shortcuts... so you can erase the not necessary, also you can organize them with view>arrange icons>by type

with drag n drop you can open them in vcarve...

i hope it helps something

thanks
viktor

Windows 7 takes this a stage further and associates the files that have been opened with an application directly with the program.

I know this is an old thread, however the feature is still desirable.
Has this capability been added in any of the subsequent releases?

It's never an old thread until the change has been added. I've never seen an app that shows fewer than 10 of the most recent files.

Vectric, please update this. We all know it's a simple and quick fix on your end.

ME TOO
It is so annoying when the recent files shown are file that have been moved to fx a USB key and then there is none because the numbers are so few.

Hi,

This limitation to 10 items is simply a good UI choice. Long menus is generally a bad choice, as it decreases readability.

Simply hit the windows key and begin typing the name of your file. Windows will automatically find the files for you. More than that, it will also search inside files (which is probably not relevant in this case).

As Adrian mentioned, clicking a Vectric file will open the associated application.

My copy of Aspire 4.5 limits the number to 4, and I disagree its simply a good UI choice. I've drawn more than that number of files in a single sitting.

I use the Windows jump lists feature. You can configure it to store as many previously opened files per application as you like plus you can pin files that you use a lot so they never fall off the list. It's a great solution if you use lots of programs as it works the same for all them.

With the programs I use I don't think two of them store the recently opened files in the same place. Some are on sub-menus, some can only be accessed when starting a new job, some only update for files opened within the program etc.
