Vcarvepro VS Vector art 3D files

Hi,
I bought this v3m file and I want to get this result, I tried many ways without succes .
I use vcarvepro and vectroart3dmachinist

Hi Gilles,
A couple of questions.

• You want it to come out like the picture, but what is different in the way it actually turns out? If you could describe the problem, or better yet, show us a picture, we could help you a little better.

• What are your cutting parameters? What size bits, speeds, etc are you using?

I am assuming you are creating the tool paths in 3dmachinist and importing them into VCarvePro?

Yes I'm creating the tool paths in 3dmachinist and importing them into VCarvePro?
I use .0625" ball nose to create the finishing toolpath in 3dmachinist .
And in Vcarvepro I use for vtool, V-Bit (90 deg 0.5") for flat area clearance tool, End Mill (0.25 inch).
And this is what I get

It appears the the flat cut by the Vbit is lower than the eagle. Is that correct?
You should set the flat depth to the same as the border of your eagle.
You probably want to cut this with an endmill. If you have one small enough it should get pretty close to the eagle.
If you expand the outside enclosing vector, you should be able to get rid of the v edge.

Okay, Gilles, I see your problem

After create your tool paths in 3DMachinist, import your saved file into VCP.
• Use the "fit vectors to bitmap" function to place a vector outlining the eagle.
• Create a rectangle around your eagle the size you want to plaque to be.
• Forget your V-bit. Under your toolpath options, choose "create pocket."
• Use a flat endmill small enough to get into everyplace it needs to...on your, probably a .125" will do.
• Specify a depth that is the same depth as your eagle is thick (can get this when you import it into 3DMachinist...in the set up window)
• Highlight the vector outline of the eagle, hold down "shift" and select the rectangle.
• create your pockete toolpath within that area and check "profile pass...last" to clean up around the edges of the eagle.
• You can then create a profile toolpath using the rectangle to cut out the rectangular plaque with the eagle on it.

Hi Joe,
I did what you said and the preview are ok but when I save the toolpath to Mach3, there are many circle that appear in Mach3
display , I tried to do a job but it was ruined because at the end it started cutting circles.
I dont understand why
