If you don't have matches you can easily start a fire by using a down spiral bit for drilling deep holes in 1" MDF.
Film at 11.
Lesson learned: when drilling holes make sure it is an UP spiral bit, and watch the feed rates.
Smoke=Bad
Glowing Embers=Really Bad

The hard way is a good way to learn - you never forget the lessons you learned the hard way.

you can get away with it but you need to do peck drilling and turn down the rpms. 8k is plenty fast.

hi
you can use downcut... just set a toolpath like a "spiral" the bit dia could be less by 20-30 percent like the hole.... and on helical movement the bit don't develop so high heat.... or use the "peck drilling" option... when the bit retracted several times of the hole... and the chip can "leave" from the hole....
one more important, the flute sure be longer like the dept of hole...
it,s a toolpath, in g code, it makes a hole with a 1/4 bit , and the hole dia is 3/4 in one inch thick board, on the X5.00 Y5.00 centerpoint... i use most of this way for holes... the rapidplane is 1.5
if you try it, try in the air...
EDITED by Brian to remove excesively long embeded toolpath
