Custom Form Tool

Post by HMPrintDesign »

Hello all,

I have been trying to create a custom form tool for a special bit we had ordered. No matter what I try I get no suitable vector selected for form tool. I created a right handed edge profile and it won't except any shape I want to use.

Any advice would be welcomed.

Yes, please do show us a picture of your bit (or your actual .crv file where you have drawn the profile)

Adding a custom form tool is not difficult - if you have drawn the right-hand half of your bit profile properly. In every case where I've seen a failure, the vector bit profile drawing was incorrect and/or had a "defect" introduced when it was drawn (undercut shape, or appropriate vector nodes not joined, or nodes crossover the vertical centerline are common errors)
