beveled edge table top

I'm trying to figure out how to machine a 45 degree beveled edge onto a 2.25" thick oval table top.
I haven't been able to find anything that explains how to achieve this detail... Any help would be appreciated!

How big is the oval table top?

Are you creating it on your CNC or does it already exist?

How deep do you want the 45° bevel edge to be?

The top will be 40 x 80. The bevel needs to be the entire 2.25" height.

The top will be machined out of a larger blank. All I've done so far is to glue up and surface the blank.

Watch the tutorial on the moulding tool path. I find it more useful than modelling and finish tool path in Aspire. Will give you the best finish, unless you have a large 90 degree v-bit and can just use profile cuts!

You might even be able to use a 90 degree V-bit with the moulding tool path to get the smoothest result, using a 1/2" ballnose or end mill for the roughing pass to give you clearance for the smaller v-bit.

Ok, thanks! I'll check out the moulding tutorial. The drawing posted is what I'm trying to do.
I think I'll try a smaller test on foam before I commit to this big slab of walnut...

Ok, I watched the moulding tutorial. However, I couldn't see how this was going help me produce
the beveled edge I'm trying to get on the oval top. I seem to be missing something. I can draw the
oval, and it's offset edge. But how do I get to the beveled edge?

If you look close at the pictures in my post there's the offset rail and a 45° profile vector.

I guess what I'm failing to understand is how to establish the 45 degree profile vector.
What steps do I take to get that?

Using the Create Line tool draw a vector at a 45° angel 3.182" long. Or with out math, draw a 2.25" x 2.25" rectangle then using the Create Line tool draw a line for corner to corner.

Sort what John said except different: start to draw a line then enter 2.25" in dx and 2.25" in dy then click add point. Let the program figure it out.
