Paint masking alternative

Although I regularly use the Oracal 631 for projects, I experimented using Rustoleum Peel Off spay paint with good results. Put 2 light coats on, let dry 2 hours, carved project , paint and use your plane rto remove the peel off. I recommend using a planer as sanding will clog the sandpaper. Has anyone else tried this? Eliminates bleeding.
