Hello everyone,
Brand new to the forum. Just got my first CNC router and it's up and running, thanks in large part to Vectric. Awesome product BTW. I'm looking for help setting up the 4th axes rotary. Not sure what the best way to figure the travel when tuning the motor using MACH3. I'm thinking the travel distance is in MM, but not sure what the easy way to measure this is. Maybe attache something to the chuck divided up in MM. Anyway thought I would ask before trying to reinvent the wheel, so to speak.
Look forward to talking to all of you and sharing the CNC experience.

Dear lloydca
Welcome, I notice not much response to your first post! Don't lose heart it's probably the holidays.
I don't have a rotary 4th axis on our Shopbot PRS Alpha. (I'd love one if anyone in the UK want to donate it). But I have noticed the Vectric Tutorial Video..

Maybe these will give you some pointers.
I'm watching with interest

Re: 4TH AXES
There is a dedicated forum section for rotary machining (http://forum.vectric.com/viewforum.php?f=38) there might be some information in there.

Put a mark on the spindle, and MDI this.
G0 A3600.
That should spin 10 times. Any deviation from your mark would be 10x the error.
