Just a guess, but are some or all of your vectors grouped? The scissor trim tool won't work on vectors that are part of a group.

Re: WHY CANT I USE THE TRIMMING TOOL
Most likely going to be grouped vectors as suggested but your question is almost like saying "why can't I start my car". Most likely would be a flat battery but without a lot more information no-one can give you an exact answer.
It's always best to attach the file in question or at least a screenshot.

You are both correct.
The vectors were grouped.
Everything work perfectly.
Thank you for your help.
Now if I could only start my car

Re: Why cant I use the trimming tool
Well, I too have this same issue! I decided to bring a few keys along with me for further assistance...
Here, on the last image, it does not show the scissors in action. They are open around the vectors, but they do not cut the vectors of the circle.
This was a YouTube Video idea I'm trying to recreate (Ying-Yang Tea Lights) for my wife.
I don't think I need to upload a CRV file as a zip, since all this is is just 5 simple circles joined in close proximity to each other.

Re: Why cant I use the trimming tool
Looks like I solved my problem tonight.
My circles were microscopically not aligned correctly! Maybe one of the circles were on the inside edge, and the other 3" was on the outside edge of the 6" circle.
I just deleted the project and re-worked the 5 circles. This time all went as planned!
If you get a problem, zoom right in on the job to the final micro pixel and you just may locate your hidden issues!
