How can I change the position of the model in the workipiece once the project has been created?
I do delete all and restart?

Double click on the model and you will see a set of "Handles" grab the center one and move the model where you want it. You can also resize the model up or down with the upper left handle and hold "Shift" and stretch or shrink...joe

If you want to move it precisely you can also press the M key and enter absolute or relative co-ordinates.

Z is basically the thickness of the part. You can't do undercuts so you can't have a piece off the base.
