Help request...Cub Scout Arrow of Light plaque

I volunteered to cut the Cub Scout Arrow of Light plaque for a den of 9 scouts. I'm about 12 hours trying to trace vectors on a clip of this plaque and have been unable to get smooth vectors on the curves. I've tried fitting curves with bezier curves, deleting nodes, and redrawing them with arcs to no avail. I'm a bit embarrassed that I've not been able to get this right and i don't want to disappoint the kids. If anyone has good vectors I can use that would be helpful but I'd especially like some help figuring this out.[

You maybe trying too hard. Less is better. I started with a straight line then to node edit, then to arc and eyeballed the arc to what looked good. No muss, no fuss. Hope this helps...joe

One way to make a smooth curve is to start with a straight line. Hover the cursor over the line and click B to convert it to a bezier. Go into node edit by pressing N on the keyboard. Box select the two handles (not the nodes) and then use the up/down arrows to adjust them them until the curve looks correct.

Here's what I did.
Import the bit map.
1. Draw an arc and node edit until it matches the lower edge of the lower line. Draw a vertical center line through the arc.
2. Offset the arc upward to make the upper edge of the lower line.
3.Draw lines to trace the prongs on the left. Mirror to the right about the vertical center line .
4. Draw lines to outline the center prong. Note that as drawn, it is not centered on the arc. Use the Align Selected Objects tool to center the prong horizontally on the arc.
5. Use the Vector trim and the Extend Vectors to a common point tools to finish off the outline.
6. Join Vectors to make a single vector outline.

Thank you all for your help. Tried most of them to get the best fit. this is what I've got thus far. I'll cut a sample and see how it comes out and go back to work if it needs more tweaking. I'll post the final results and the vectors.
