How we tile long boards: Tiling Jig
Using the ruler, we TILE down the Y axis 16"
Careful alignment is achieved by marking each 16" segment.
With practice, one can "REGISTER" perfectly.
I would suggest a sharp pencil.
Hope this is helpful to all.

Do the tiles all have to be the same size / length???
In order to do a break at a blank spot in the sign the tiles
are unequal.
Thanks for any help!!

The tool path manager allows you to set size of the tile in X or Y, one time. If there are some blank tiles in the job, they still have to be accounted for...joe

You can have blank areas by dividing the tile job into separate jobs. The tile lengths in each job can be different. If you are cutting a border, that could be done with a 4th job in the example. Or add additional tiles on each end of job 2 that include just the border.olf20 wrote:Do the tiles all have to be the same size / length???

Re: How we tile long boards: Tiling Jig
We tile in equal multiples...
Another approach: Scale the artwork or adjust the length of the board.
Example: Two-tiles at 16" equals 32". (So... The board I'm cutting on is 32" and I scale my artwork to fit.)
If my artwork is 33" but needs to fit a 32" board, then make it fit by scaling to 32".
We do everything possible to work in equal multiples by scaling or cutting the board.
"Thank God for SCALE and the cut-off saw."
I hope that makes sense.

Looks like something off of an adjustable drywall T-square.

From what I see of twedlake's link Home Despot link (which doesn't actually resolve properly for me) it is this one:

Pay $5 for an aluminum ruler and mill your own slot or pay $35 for a framing square with a slot and take it apart?
