Hi,
I am searching for a way to make a neck pocket ramped. I looked at fluting but I still do not get how to do it? I have V Carve pro 8. I also can not believe I am the first person to ask this question about a guitar neck pocket? I was hoping there was a simple gadget that you put in the dims and it creates the pocket. I have attached the pocket and would love so help with this as I am sure it is simple for someone to show me. Thanks for your help!
It would be great to be able to select a degree of ramp like 3.5 degree or 4 degrees..

Re: How to ramp a guitar neck pocket
from what I've seen an angled neck pocket needs to be treated as a 3D surface, not as a pocket.

The fluting toolpath is really simple and can do this, BUT to get a smooth bottom you need to have a very small step-over.... otherwise it will show some waviness because the round tool is not perpendicular to the bottom of the cut.
THe variation in depth (~0.2") over about ~2.5" is only 4-5 degrees. Can you tilt the material by this angle so the cutter is perpendicular to the bottom of the cut? if so, then a regular pocket will do the job very smoothly, very quickly.
