Help with Fonts

Post by w4yn »

New to CNC sign making
History, I have been hand carving Name Boards for scouts for many years
Arthritis and poor eyes were making it difficult
Bought a Piranha for this task
My problem is finding a font that looks like what I did before.
I load same font into editor (Ariel Rounded or VAG Rounded) but the width is not consistent on screen or when carving.
See attached, an example is T, hand carved Horizontal and verticle are same width, CNC Horizontal is thinner.
I want to CNC versions to look like (close) to the 120 or so already hung in scout room.

Try one of the single line fonts like Helvetica 1L and profile ON the vector.

This site has many fonts http://www.dafont.com/ I'm not sure which one will suit your needs but you should be able to find one that is close enough.
Happy hunting.

You could try this site

https://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/

You can find a close match from an image or ask the people who use the site to suggest something similar.
