I just purchased a Laguna IQ with the V Carve software.
Is there a easy way to make lines that are straight both vertically and horizontally in exact 1 inch segments? (This would I've me a grid pattern) By doing this is would give me a better way to lay out my work on the spoil board without guessing.
Thank you

Re: Make grid for spoil board in V Carve Pro
Create one vertical line to represent the left hand edge and one horizontal line for the bottom edge.
Then use 'array copy' using the vertical line with copies in the 'X' direction.
Then use 'array copy' using the horizontal line with copies in the 'Y' direction.
However, if you're really stuck, give me details of your spoil board size and I'll create a file for you.
Cheers,
Alan

...and just in case it's 36" x 24" here's a file.

When you do an array don't forget to check gap [distance between] or offset [center to center]

When I try to carve this I get errors because all vectors are open. Please advise

Do it as a Profile cut, On the Line?
Not looking at the file though.
On mine,I copy every 6" line onto another layer, and cut twice the depth so it's easy too see at a glance where I am without counting the lines
Also good as they're still visible after surfacing the inch marks off.

What Scott said. Do it as a profile. Define the origin and area(and the bit in tools of course). Set the steep over. I use a raster cut at a fairly high feed speed.

Opps! I should have said, "Do it as a POCKET". Define the origin and area(and the bit in tools of course). Set the steep over. I use a raster cut at a fairly high feed speed.
This way there are no lines to draw and nothing to calculate.
