Wasn't sure what style fonts those were but this should follow the same basislagadishimorto wrote:second pic is result after clicked on weld command

Your example result I can get to but when we distort the text KOKINDA with slight veed in middle the Boolean union or weld does not work and endresult as per 2nd pic and one time we lost the drawing panel completely.
Hope this explains the issue some?

Re: Text on Text Carving
I just tried what you have mentioned & had no problem welding them together, didn't use any examples, just started with 2 lines of text. Did you delete the 2 vectors you used to distort the larger name?lagadishimorto wrote:to:knowlzy0791

No problems with parts of the screen disappearing or anything else out of the ordinary,

Re: Text on Text Carving
Just figured it out . We did NOT BAKE the distorted text converted to vectors, after the distortion . Just tried weld after having baked and the weld came out fine.
Great day whenever you learn something new .Don't forget to BAKE! the distortion prior to welding..

Re: Text on Text Carving
I didn't bake the distortion lol, I created the text, distorted it, deleted the 2 vectors I had used to create the distortion & then converted it to curves, once I had converted it to curves just placed the other line of converted text over the top & hit weld. Normally I wouldn't use vcarve for anything to do with text but I am making a bit more of an effort to learn how to use the drawing tools as & when I get a bit of spare time.lagadishimorto wrote:Just figured it out . Re: Text on Text Carving
I have never used bake when stacking text, but hey if it works it works!
Re: Text on Text Carving
Ive tried to do this type of text stacking for a while, thanks for the detailed instructions in the pdf by fleming, I finally got it right with the text on text. my next delima is adding a 3d background module or component. I tried using boundary settings and reset outside of selected text vectors from the menu, but my 3d finish tool path always seems to cut though or carve over my text. Is there a way to make this a 1 step process, or am I overlooking something simple. my current attempts are pocket, pocket, then 3d finish
OOps, after 1 more attempt, I realize my outside vectors of text were not offset enough for tool clearance, solved my own issue, but maybe not in the most simple form. It works, none the less.

Re: Text on Text Carving
For the life of me I cannot get the top text to appear on top when simulating. I am using only end mills, and am trying very hard to follow the instructions which, because of they incorporate v carving also, leave me perplexed. When converting to curves, welding and combining, is that done on level 2 (or 3), or the final level (5)? Also, is level 4 really needed if level 5 gets all the info anyway??? Thanks.

NL7U,
Can you post your VCP file and let everyone take a look at what you're having problems with?

Re: Text on Text Carving
I tried to upload a picture, but this site was not happy with either a .bmp or a .jpg, so I am winging it. I was finally able to successfully bring forth a text on text, but I will have to try to replicate this success before I claim success. The multiple layers seem to be redundant to me. I will attempt a "cheat sheet" of my own that I can follow, and will report back to you all.
This is EXCITING!

jpegs should upload to the site but there is a size limit, try reducing the size of the file for upload
