V-Carve on a 3D Model

I am having difficulty V-Carving text on top of a 3D model. How can i determine the depth of the 3D surface?

In the older version of V-Carve it would be tricky to V-Carve on a 3-D model.
In the newest version ( version 8 ) there is an option to "Project toolpath onto 3-D model".
That would solve your problem.

Thanks! Another reason to upgrade from 7.5 to version 8. Will be getting it soon. This year I need to recover from the big tax bill first.

This feature and other features added in version 8 are exciting.
