Cutting More than One Pass

Post by wjfiles »

I have not seen this mentioned before.
I found that for good detail in PVC on difficult to machine material I set the tool depth of cut to half the depth I want to cut and the result is two light passes instead of one heavy cut.
It seems to give me a better finish.

Hi WJF,

The number of passes is controlled by the Pass Depth specified for the selected cutter. This can be edited in the Tool Database or using the Edit tool button when calculating a specific toolpath.

The Number passes = Cut Depth / Pass Depth

I hope this helps,

Tony
