cutting tapered angles on plywood

Post by bmc0787 »

Hi Guys
Im looking for some guidance with the following:
I have a vertical cabinet side that is intersecting a separate curved piece. The angle on the vertical cabinet side is 58 degress where it meets the curved part.
Is there a way to machine /taper that 58 degress angle onto the length of the edge of the vertical cabinet part using the Vcarvepro software when its laying flat on the cnc table. I was thinking that somehow using the tapering feature or is there a better way to do this or is it even possible. Hopefully I have explained this correctly.
any feedback would be appreciated.
thanks
Brian

Not totally sure Exactly what you need, but does the very last .crv on this thread give you any ideas? (ramp cut on left)
Need to play to get angle, and would need an extra sacrificial board for bit to cut into for a clean edge?
Hope this is kind of like what you were looking for.

Since you angle is 58° two degrees short of 60° I would [use a practice piece first] tilt and shim the board up two degrees then use a 60° cutter. This will give you a perfectly flat cut the length of the board. Dale
