profile tool path machine Vectors not selectable

Post by anyducks »

I am trying to build finger joints for a box.

This is to join on the sides of the box. I get error messages when I select machine vectors out or in. No error when I select on.

error message "no tool path generated for parameters. check tool can fit into selected vectors matching depth.
project size 8" x 12" x .5"
1/4 bull nose bit.

Am I running into some relation between bit size and size of the curves for the block?

On works with an open vector. Outside or Inside may require a closed vector.

I have struggled for too long with this very problem.
I had copied the tool path from another document.
Yes, to the naked eye everything looked good.
It had worked on the original design.
The solution came when I asked the machine to close the vectors.
There was no visible change, but now, it works.
