I created some DXF files with various font types, and discovered that they were not imported into vcarve with the original font. Is this just a limitation of the trial software?

Hello Rod,

VCarve Wizard will import files that contain the standard AutoCAD fonts, but not embedded True Type Fonts.

We recommend that you EXPLODE the design in AutoCAD before exporting as DXF. This method of working will also be useful if you send designs to people who may not have the appropriate fonts installed.

The EXPLODE command changes grouped items into individual elements so they can be edited.

There are 3 ways of using the Explode command.

Click on the Explode button on the Draw toolbar,

Or

Type x or explode at a Command: prompt,

Or

Select Explode under the Modify Menu.

Use Join command in AutoCAD to link the elements back together before exporting the DXF file. Or the Join Open Vectors command in VCW if the imported DXF design consists of individual elemets.

Hope this helps.
