Hi I have purchased the rope circle 3D model from VectorArt and I want to use the cut out tool path on the outside of the circle only, is this possible ? or is there another way to do it.
I am importing the tool paths into Vcarve Pro 6.5
Thanks Stuart

Hi Stuart,

That will be easy to do in VCP, so don't calculate a cutout toolpath in Cut3D.

Go back onto the VectorArt 3D site and download the free .eps outline for the model you bought. Import this into VCP, size it the same as the 3D component and center it over the 3D component. Now you have a vector to use in VCP for a Profile-Outside toolpath. If the .eps file contains both an inner and outer vector, simply delete the one you don't need.

Ask if you need more detail.

Tim

I'm happy to help.

For others reading this, we ran into a little glitch that I had forgotten about. If you download an .eps file using Windows Explorer, it will change the file extension to .ps, which the Vector Import process will not recognize. So after downloading, you need to manually change the file extension to .eps and then you will be able to import it.
