Finishing Pass when V-Carving
Finishing Pass when V-Carving
Is there any way to do a finishing pass when V-Carving with a flat area clearance?

Send your bit to 0,0,0.
Lower Z by .002" and zeroize Z at that lower point.
Re-run the file.
That drop of a half thickness of paper will clean up a lot of fuzzies.

Re: Finishing Pass when V-Carving
How i do finishing passes but not sure it relates to your question. But for each v-bit i have 2 tool paths. One does the initial carving. The other has a pass depth set as deep as the bit can go, but remember it is restricted by the vector. Then i set a start dept at a tiny fraction above where the first tool path was set and run a second tool path. it immediately goes to the bottom of the vectors and cleans out most fuzzies. Not sure i have had enough coffee yet to explain myself, but maybe this will help.
