I downloaded the TRIAL Version several days ago and set about watching the online tutorial videos... then attempted to reproduce some of the things seen in the videos. Success was spotty and frustration was high... BUT this software program is highly addictive! I couldn't seem to walk very far away from it. Feeling the need for a project I had a real interest in I began working on a military unit plaque. I think I'm making better progress working on something I am invested in... but there are still a great many things about ASPIRE that continue to escape my grasp. Quite possibly the advanced tutorials on the ASPIRE CD will help in this respect... however that's subject to when I can afford to make the purchase.
Anyway... here's my in-progress result with this astounding software...

Getting aquainted with ASPIRE... 1st project

That turned out a lot better than my first project. Nice work.

hi BOOMER52,
What you have here looks very good. Yes the software program is highly addictive
and like all the software from the Vectric team it is excellent.
I myself have never done any 3d models and even with all the excellent tutorials by
James Booth it is a bit of a struggle for me, but like everything the more you use it the
better it gets I am sure you will have great success. This is a great forum if you have
questions just ask and you will get all the help you need.
Bill.

I finished off the model for the RECON plaque... it was lacking the scroll and alpha numerics at the bottom. I've also attached the original low res graphic the ASPIRE work was based upon.
I believe I'm beginning to get an inkling of what's required to arrive at what I want... but it's certainly been an entertaining challenge up to this point!

Re: Getting aquainted with ASPIRE... 1st project
Thanks for the compliments guys.
Don... I was actually in the Navy... this is being done for a buddy in Camp Lejuene and now as it turns out... quite a few orders have queued up from others in the battalion. Here's a more finalized design with the exception of the font for the name and rank. I'm not fond of the only script type font I currently have on the PC. Need to explore alternatives. So much to absorb...

I'm sorry to hear that you were an Anchor Cranker.... Seriously Thanks for your time in.
That's a really nice touch with adding his Rank with his name.. Very nice touch..
BTW, have many resources with the patches and emblems if you need some help.
