First attempt at sculpting with Aspire.

Post by mark296 »

This is my first attempt at sculpting with Aspire. I know it is not very good but it is helping me learn the sculpting tools.

I've been creating, deleting, creating etc... I'm amazed at how easy this was...
Granted, simple but it's a 3D star with little stars embedded on it... imagine if I'd spent more than 5 minutes on it. again... wow.

I think that Bobcat wants a piece of that rabbit.
James, I see your business growing now that we can find different uses for your models. And they are so easy to incorporate into Aspire.. :D

I think you are right, Jame's business is going to improve from this. It teaches us just how difficult great 3D models can be to create (i.e. we respect Jame's work more... not to say we didn't already) but it also gives us a way to incorporate his 3D models into our own designs.

I was just playing with the subtract feature... making molds (remember, get persmission for any of Jame's models) is going to be a breeze!

I'm actually starting with simple geometric shapes, squares, dishes etc... I did create a dish and import a bat into it. But I've been playing with merge, subtract, add... just to see what happens.

But so as not to dissapoint :)

Robert,

I can now rest my head tonight and dream sweet dreams knowing that all is right with the world.

Also, glad to see that you made it home from Austin.
Slowly I turned...

Harryball- if that was a two rail sweep you were doing then you didn't have the start points of both rails on the same end. the rails need to be pointing in the same direction or else the sweep will twist.

Do I need permission to sell my carvings that include James models now? I thought that once you bought the model you could carve it as many times as you wanted an long as they were no mass production of it. I am only selling what I carve not the models I make.

You have permission to carve them and sell them as a finished product... they can not be used for the purpose of selling the design itself i.e. making molds of it for other people to copy and in the agreement it states:

"You may not use any of the models in whole or in part, for multiple resales in the form of molded parts, castings or other mass production methods etc., without the express written permission of Vector Art 3D, Inc."

I may be way off here,. But I think once you've "purchased" any of Jame's work ( actually any artist), you can carve that file as many times as you want, even for production.
But if you attempted to sell the electronic file would be wrong.

And I would also think I could not sell any file that I create that includes another artists files. But I could still carve the file, even in a production setting.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Playing with Aspire Demo. A couple of files I will be cutting later, the first one made up by selecting vectors from back then moulding, the second one made as components.
