Michael's Steampunk Sleigh

Post by gene8522 »

Here is my try at Michael's Steampunk Sleigh. I had to remake the sleigh body because when I tried to apply the blackwash the clear coat was not dry enough and everything was blotchy. I left the wash off of this one and it turned out great. I did put the wash on the runners.
When I saw Michael's Sleigh in Denver, and I knew I had to make one

Great project... See, your primal brain directed you to err on the wash. You REALLY wanted to do it without the wash.

It won't be from me. My shop is not big enough for a CNC large enough to cut a lifesize sleigh on. :D

That came out looking great! I think I prefer the "plain" non-washed look myself. Nice job.

I have a chip on my shoulder....several more in my hair and lots more all over my shop floor.

Great job, Gene! I’m so glad you made one!

Sorry you had to re-do the sides, but your “new sides” look fantastic!

This is what happens if you try to rush the blackwash, and not let the clear coat dry long enough.
