Happy Dog Grips (45)

Post by TReischl »

These are grips for a S&W .45 commander, pro series. I made two sets, one for mine and one for my wife's.

They are walnut and maple. I cut the inlay shape and a pocket for it in the walnut. Then I glued the inlay blank into the pocket. So the 3D inlay was cut at the same time as the shape of grip. The slants on the bottom were done with a 45 degree v carve bit. They are raised above the surface about .030 around the edges.

I have to ask Ted, does the dog bite when it jumps at you?

Very nice work and looks very good.
