All finished and will be delivered this morning. It's 7-1/4" wide by 10" high.

The small black walnut crosses are about 1/4" square sticks, half lap notched and glued.

While working on minor improvements, my wife (er, I mean - Chief Project Design Engineering Consultant) didn't like the rectangular shape so I made this oval change for her. Now she is very happy with it. :D Will make one of these soon.

Finally got around to making the oval shaped desktop version. There is a 1/4" by 2-1/4" oak dowel pressed into a hole on the back as a stand. The wife approves of this version very much. :)

Really nice and I like that piece of oak also. Good grain bending there.

The annular rings in that board is not centered in the width of the board. Being off center, and being dished out, caused that effect. Had it been perfectly centered, it might have given it a halo effect.

That design contrast reminds me of this one I do, primarily because of the contrast colors. Never get tired of looking at it.

Since the weave tool was added to Aspire I have been using it on most of my projects in some manner. "got stuck in the loop" I guess ... Then I found that they are enhanced by using gel stain to selectively stain the projects to get an antiqued or weathered look.

I really like your version of the Celtic Knot Cross also.

Thanks Scott. This one also goes to the pastor on Sunday morning, for the disaster recovery facility in Tarboro, NC.

It will be on display tomorrow along with many of my other projects at the local Veterans Museum's annual fundraiser as woodcraft by a local veteran. Guitars, Crosses, a Paradise Box, puzzles, 2 wooden swords and 2 wooden daggers, weird gadgets, etc. None of it for sale though. (Hmmm, might think on that idea a bit - in special cases)

I agree for sure on the weave tool. Not only add beautiful visual effects, but in the case of my block plane I use it in the grip area and it really keeps it from slipping in your hand.

I put a similar weave on a pair of 1911A grips for a friend a few years back. He loves it.

Block Plane?? How does it work? Does it use step motors or servos? Gcode or AI instructions? Very pretty gadget in any case.
(Just teasing, I have a few old ones.)

:D They haven’t developed all the mechanisms or software to solve that one yet. The last one they tried had issues with reversing grain direction.

Here are two versions of the grips I created. He got the ones with no logo. I never made the ones with the logo, just created the file for fun.

Very Cool! It was certainly a game changing feature. One of the best tools added.
