Another inlay project

this is another Aspire inlay project. 18" square in Mesquite, Maple, Walnut, White Oak, Sapele, and Wenge.
I'm calling this my Bob Ross tribute piece as I add 'happy little clouds' as he would say.
It was fun doing this one. cheers!

How thick is the stock....and the Inlay pieces?

Thank you. The inlay pieces start off at 0.26" so that there is a little room to sand flat.
Normally, the back stock is the same thickness and is built around the inlays. In this case I just used
pockets into a recycled and resawn stair tread in side grain white oak. The pockets had a floor of about 0.06" which
bucked a bit when I added the glue. Fortunately, the belt sander worked to flatten it enough to
glue to a 1/2" piece of plywood. cheers!

Nice work Nick. Different species wood make for a very pleasing aesthetic. Then throw in the happy clouds and it makes for a splendid scene Bob Ross would envy. Thanks for sharing.
