Re: Life is Better on the Water
REALLY like the overall Feel of that Piece Doug!
Is that a resaw?
A touch of Torch?
Like the place you stopped coating with the mix!!
It must have a really nice In the Wood feel to it!
Beautiful work all around!
Congrats Doug

No not a resaw. The wood is 1.1" thick.
Yes I did use a torch to highlight things.
I call the finish I mix 1-2-3. It one part Boiled Linseed Oil, Two parts Poly oil base and three parts mineral sprites. You apply it using 400 wet/dry sandpaper. Sand until you get a slurry, stop and wipe it off. Apply three to five coats.
The wood has a soft feel to it. Like rubbing you ear lob.
Glad you like it.

Re: Life is Better on the Water
Thanks Doug!
Yep, Had to look the finish up as I mix, but hadn't run across it named that way before:)
Love mixing my own blends in small batches to get JUST what I want
+1 on the wet sanding!!
