Got the clock from local swap meet for $1.00.
Have a stash of the 11 ply from a job years ago.
This is a test piece, 11 ply oak veneer.
Cheated on the layer look of the name,
engraved it then filled it with a darker wood filler.
Final one will be from solid oak with a base.

Oh...I remember thinking that would look nice with a little pocket "Niche" for the Lion in the bottom?
Be a PITA to sand, so I'd be really careful to make a clean pocket!
