steam punk salmo

Post by scottart »

I like the mix that Steam punk brings to art work, kind of the Jazz music of the art world, a mix of industrial hardware with a Jules Vern twist combined with the soft curves of the natural world.

So after much ponder I bought the steampunk package of files from Steam punk Elements ( found under Steampunk elements on Facebook). it contains fine detailed models of different gears, gauges, bolts and clock parts.

Than I used it in Aspire with one of my Salmon models to create this piece.

From Aspire design to finish carving was a noon to late evening event. all that is left is clean up than sealing and painting.

Very pleased with Aspire and my CNC 4896, for giving me the tools to take stuff from concept to complete in a day...

thanks for looking

Steampunk fish! What a cool idea. I'm also drawn to this type of imagery. There's something weirdly appealing about it.

I love Steampunk stuff, too! You did a great job arranging the models into a wonderful fish, Scott!

Love it, steampunk is so cool. Troy, NY has a steampunk festival in the summer, a lot of fun.

Liked how it turned out. I always liked this kind of artwork.

About a year or so ago, I started modeling a "Hard Eagle" in ZBrush, where I almost finished the wings before I got side-tracked and moved on to something else. After seeing your project, I think I will finish it and maybe do it as a double-sided project. Thanks for making me remember about that project.
