Re: Progress
Jolie bernache du Canada, John.
Nice 3D and Scott is happy. Who could ask for more?
Maybe it's a pixel effect from the snapshot but if not, converting vectors to curves and editing some nodes will help smoothing a bit the outline and eliminate artifacts (riddles, shadows) before applying relief.

Re: Progress
Thanks for the advise. I'm still not completely happy with my edge trimming, but I'm working on it.LittleGreyMan wrote: Maybe it's a pixel effect from the snapshot but if not, converting vectors to curves and editing some nodes will help smoothing a bit the outline and eliminate artifacts (riddles, shadows) before applying relief.

Re: Progress
Well you have left me in the dark ages John
I don't seem to get a lot of time to practice these days but even so I should be a lot further forward than I am, not really sure why I find 3D so difficult, I had absolutely no problem what so ever learning 2D. Mind you I was a lot younger then & didn't have this illness I have now
Keep up the good work, always good to see how people are progressing

Re: Progress
I think it is actually a Canada Goose. We'd have to look at its passport to determine whether or not it was Canadian. It’s supposed to be a Canadian Goose.

Re: Progress
Surely that should be "incorrectly" and not "colloquially". Here in the Great White North (and that is a colloquialism) we refer to them as Canada goose/geese. It seems only non-Canadians who use "the other term" (that's a euphemism). The Canada goose is also colloquially referred to as the "Canadian goose". {citing American Heritage Dictionary} --Wikipedia
My "The Oxford Canadian Dictionary" does not mention Canadian goose.

Re: Progress
I caught HOLY HECK from my friend's wife in Oz who IS Canadian the first time I mentioned a Canadian Goose like I grew up saying!!
Glad she was half the world away when I said it...and NOT during their visit here!
A little shove from her, and the wheelchair and I would have been swimming IN the beaver pond
I've learned my lesson well. You can't please everyone,so you have to please yourself

Re: Progress
So is a Mexican Jumping bean correctly called a “Mexico Jumping Bean”?
Or the US flag called the “America Flag”?
Canadian Goose sure “seems” correct!

Well, I guess we would find it silly to say “Floridian Gator” instead of “Florida Gator”!

Re: Progress
Gentlemen,
As I wrote above, it's a "bernache du Canada". This appellation is not negotiable.
Those who do not comply will have to model a poix sauteur du Mexique in movement.
