“16th Century Copper” Atlas Gets a Worthy Frame

Post by rcastrap »

The artwork I have shown previously. It is carved from pine project board, finished to look like a 16th Century French hammered copper atlas using Sculpt Nouveau Copper B, light green patina, and black shoe polish. The frame is this weekend project. It is Goncalo Alves, with black acrylic paint used as a glaze. Thanks to all the Vectric Wizards who made suggestions.

Thanks, Michael! BTW, without your “1930’s Buck Rogers Rocket Clock” project, I never would have known you could use plain old Walmart acrylic paint as a glaze.

Ha! I'm so glad you enjoy the projects AND you do such a fantastic job with them! (I particularly remember the mini-grandfather clock base modification/improvement you made!!)

Thanks for sharing your pics of your projects - it's always fun to see what you've been up to!
