New to CNC - First Project

Postby tfrank » Sun Sep 09, 2018 4:04 pm

So I've been reading this board for over a year. 6 months ago I decided to jump in and bought a CNC router. It's obvious to me that you are all very creative and helpful but the constant theme on this board to utilize the Vectric training tutorials has certainly been some of the best advice for early on in my CNC learning curve.

While this isn't my first official CNC project (I built a bathroom vanity with Fusion 360 and JointCam), I wanted to try out the various techniques offered by the Aspire software.

I obviously have some work to do on finishing VCarved items. But since this is for a shop cabinet, I focused on the design and cutting techniques and not the finishing.

I am particularly fond of the inlay. I already have requests for a couple more of those. My thanks to Pual Z for developing and publishing the original technique. I've read it and re-read it several times.

Regards,

Tony

Wish my first project had turned out that well. In fact I think my first project became firewood.

Thanks for sharing....
