I did the Apple as a Double-sided project, but it looked a little lonesome, so I decided to do the Barrel. I had some left over 2-1/4 x 3/4 oak flooring that I beveled the sides to form the barrel, then shaped it on the Rotary.
I have a large rotary that runs the length of the bed, so I use the Y-Axis (wrap X values). When I did the lettering, although in the preview it showed everything was fine, the first attempt machining, the letters came out mirrored. The second time I reversed the letters and they machined correct. If using the X-Axis, there is no problem with the mirroring. I have informed Vectric Support of the problem, so hopefully they can figure it out. I also informed them several months ago, that if a 3-D model has lettering on it, if imported for the Y-Axis, it will come in mirrored. Again the X-Axis there's no problem.

Like the barrel very creative. Where did you get the barrel staves pattern?
Thanks for sharing.

Are you sure that your rotary isn't spinning backwards?

Nice work Gary as always. Thanks for sharing. I like the vase next to it as well. Your home must be a verifiable showcase of all of your pieces.

Thanks everyone for the replies
I cut fifteen oak strips to a width of 2" and beveled each side 11.7° on the table saw, when clued together, created the full circle. I drew the curvature in Rhino giving me about 1/4" thickness at each end and just under 3/4 in the center.
That's the first thing I check and that's not the problem. If I import (Y-axis only) it looks good on the input page, but when I accept the part, it will come in mirrored.
Anyway, Vectric Support has been made aware of the problem, so until then, I got to remember to mirror the letters before I machine them.
