Diamond Drag on slate
Diamond Drag on slate
I had been wanting to see how well a diamond drag would do on slate. This is montauk slate from a big box store, 12x24 piece for $5. Home made diamond drag. Image sized to 8.3x11". 55 minute run time.

Well that looks first rate. Never thought of trying slate. Yet one more thing to add to list.

Re: Diamond Drag on slate
VERY nice job!
Only tried slate once while putzing....
Picked an area where I could scratch the surface with an American penny(!!!), and used a cheap bit I was disappointed in at VERY conservative settings and Z'd at the low spot(cut was actually about .025" at the high spot).
Surface was wonderful except for one line where I where I expanded a pocket on the fly and forgot the radius of the bit.
Think I'll have to play with a VBit:)

I've learned my lesson well. You can't please everyone,so you have to please yourself
