Week 5 Project Of The Week Series.
Week fives project is an address plaque for a dear friend and family member on her birthday. All went well until I found out through my own bone head move that the address is wrong. So it will be cut again with the correct one.
Material is Redwood 3/4 thick 16" x 9".
Edge work done with 1/4" End mill for roughing out and an 1/8" tapered ball nose for the finishing pass.
Lettering and numbers were cut with an 30° v-bit with .060"
flat depth. Font is Blacksword. 2 LB cut shellac was applied prior to cutting to rid the fuzzies. Lettering was sprayed on with Marsh Spray ink. Final finish applied with Hellmans exterior matte poly 2 coats with a light sand in between.
Back has a keyhole slot for hanging which an 3/8" keyhole bit from Amana was used.
I do realize I could mill down an oval around the address and recut the letters but I would know it was because of my error so I will just recut it right this time.

Beautiful work; it would be a shame to re-cut. Ask her to move.
