Door Name Plates

Post by GarySeibs »

A little sample of the name plates I have my students do. I have a template file set up and these are designed to give them practice editing, aligning / centering, recalculating toolpaths and using the modeling tools just a little. Along with a tutorial this can be very self directed with only a little individual help from me (IF they'll read it). We've done quite a few with flat backgrounds but I think the stone texture really looks nice.

We are in the midst of a phased school rebuild on the same sight as our old building so we have quite a few new office spaces to get plates out to. By the way, one of the goals was to increase the CTE programs and improve our facilities. My new shop space is terrific; better than anything else I've seen. Educationally in my part of the country, the pendulum is swinging back toward useful, employable skills. :D

Very nice, Gary! They look great, but I wish the photo was a little larger!

Very Nice work. I also like the textured background. Bonus: more forgiving on the tooling marks arena. Thanks for sharing.
