Another Update:

The Moon Pie Company received three guitars last Thursday according to the UPS tracking site. The company confirmed it today and all is well with the shipment. "They look fantastic!!!!"

I will finish #4 of these guitars tomorrow. It will be donated to the local Veterans Museum as craft work by a local veteran. They are starting to collect items that local veterans make - like para-chord wrist bands and handsaw handled walking canes.

The local VFW has another project for me to do also.

Thanks very much Dwayne,

I delivered the guitar to the Veterans Museum director today around 1 pm. He was very happy to get it and will keep it in a glass case on display. He will practice a song or two with it when there are few/no visitors on slow days and he is bored ... Maybe he will play a song at the next Veterans Day event at the museum. He plays in a band that is composed of veterans.

Stellar stuff CarveOne. I certainly have doing a cigar box guitar on my list. But also found some stuff for other instruments and think I may head down that path stepping foot into that world. It is very interesting and so many things to do in that world of making instruments.

Go for it Arbo. You'll be glad you did. You can get as fancy as you want to with the CNC, or go retro simplistic. Search this forum for salad bowl guitars to see my bamboo salad bowl guitars. Any questions I can help with just contact me. I still have your email address.

I got a request from the Moon Pie company last week for one more guitar, and I am currently building guitar #4 for them. The box for it should arrive tomorrow or Thursday. The neck will be completed by noon today. It will be given to a buyer at a large supermarket chain. Not sure if it is a promotional thing for them or if the buyer actually plays guitar and saw one while visiting the Moon Pie offices. :)

It's fun getting this kind of attention. :D

You continue to amaze me with your fun guitars. Still haven't built my first one but getting closer! I keep the Cigar Box Guitar book you suggested on my desk for inspiration...

Guitar #4 was shipped to them yesterday. The head-stock on this one was Vcarved with "Expect the best! This might not be the last one. I hope to move on to other projects though.
