Well Week 1 project for the project a week series.
This is an autograph frame that a cousin will give to her grandson. Material is 3/4 Cherry approximately 17" long x 10" wide x .5" thick. This was done via double sided machining. Back side needed to have a pocket cut out to hold the Acrylic and backer board. Model was out of the Aspire clipart package. Added the Joe Theisman #7 from a photo and bought in as a component. Roughing pass 1/4" EM. Finishing pass with .0625 Tapered ball nose. Lettering done with 60° 1/2" V-Bit. Profile cutout with 1/8" EM. all paints acrylic artist paint. Sealed prior to paint with 2lb cut shellac. Painted then another coat of shellac cut down with alchohol. Light sand then a third and final coat of shellac thinned 50%. Then 3 coats of Bri Wax hand buffed with a light buff with a scotchbrite pad between applications.
Nice little project that I am sure the recipient will appreciate when he gets a bit older.
Thanks for looking and stay tuned for next weeks project.
Love the idea of a Project a week! Nice customization of the free clipart I look forward to the rest! Good Luck!
Thank you Rebecca, just trying to drive myself to be in my shop on a daily basis. I am also running this series on my facebook page so other family and friends can follow along as well. Thanks again for the kind words. Best Dwayne
