Very nice. Sure beats using a drill press and band saw.

Re: custom oval cribbage board
as a matter of fact the cherry was perfect for this, machined out easily and smooth

Re: custom oval cribbage board
Very nice Stan! I like the idea of accessing everything from the top. Most of mine have pockets on the back and it makes it more difficult to get to all the parts! Might have to 'borrow' this design!

The removable top is a great design feature. Easy to use and practical.

Re: custom oval cribbage board
I have made a few similar boards in the past.
Usually make a lid to fit in the recess, of contrasting timber and put a 3D carving on it.
Here is my layout

I have Aspire v8.502 and it won't open it. Says it was written with a newer version; V-Carve Pro v9.020.
Maybe you could share the dxf file ????
Thanks Again

Very nice, and thank you for sharing your file.
One suggestion that I saw elsewhere might be to put rare-earth magnets onto the underneath of the lid and correspondingly on pocketed area, and put a key-hole cutout on the back (or picture hanging device, etc) so it can be displayed in a place of honour on the wall and then taken down when it's time to play crib.
