"hold up as well as they do " The bases are 2x4 pressure treated frames with 1/2 ply on them. All of the wood gets two coats of moisture barrier sealer, 2 coats of some really THICK primer (don't know what it is but it's thick!), and then at least two coats of color coats. The roofs are mostly covered with asphalt roofing material. The details are braded or screwed and Titebond III. On some we also caulk all the seams. When we go to HD for material we will pick through a whole stack to get a few pieces. Most buildings last for about three years before a refurb and will generally handle two or three refurbs. The structures we build these days are now holding up almost twice as long as our originals, we're learning! :D Russ

There are live steam clubs in most every major metro area. Great family outing. Russ
