1/8th scale structure

Post by ChiloquinRuss »

At our railroad park one of the structures quite literally fell apart. So here is a work in progress replacement. I use Aspire and a 48x96 ShopBot. 1/8th ball nose for the scribing, 1/4 in end mill for openings and cutout of the 1/2 in plywood, and a 1/16th tapered ball nose for the 6mm sintra detail parts. Lots more to do so for now, just a work in progress. Russ

A gallon can of paint inf the lower right shows relative size.

Can you guess what the structure is?

OK, good guess!

Bernie, no lights for this structure. We have experimented some with solar mini panels but we don't do much night running so it's currently not a high priority. We have about 150 or so miniature buildings on the property (2,200 acres) so conventional wiring is not an option. The buildings stay out all year round so they are less than super detailed and more towards the robust, maintainable side of the scale! :D Russ

Nice project. That must be quite an RR site built on 2,200-acres.
Thank You

Aaaah! THERE we go :D
Still find it hard to believe your structures hold up as well as they do with the snow, and freeze/thaw cycles:)
Well done Russ!!!
