Porch Sign

Post by dwilli9013 »

Latest sign I made for my sisters back porch.
Material: Poplar
Dims: 14" x 10" x 3/4"
Paints: Acrylic
Lettering is gold but hard to see in picture.
Rough pass with 1/4 ballnose
Finish pas with .0625 tapered ballnose.
Due to not having my toolpaths dialed in properly this was a 51 hour cut all combined. and due to my mistakes the third board was the charm.
Finish was 2lb cut of shellac for initial seal the 50/50 cut with Denatured alcohol for subsequent coats. Final 2 coats rattle can poly.
Fun little project whilst learning a few things along the way.

Thanks for that. Great sign! You made me think of my mom. She passed 5 years ago but she had the 2 faces (Happy and Sad) in her living room as long as I can remember.
Cheers
