This is my latest embossing plate for leather. I did this during the tour night at the Dallas Maker Space. Got some excited potential members and some good questions. embossing plate of the Boy Scout emblem.

Yet another great embossing plate! Great detail and very smooth.
If you don't mind, what thickness is the brass plate? Are you using a backing material on the plate? What type of bits are you using?

thank you. The depth is only 0.11", so in this case I used a 1/4" plate (since it was cheaper). strong enough no backing is necessary, just sitshighpockets wrote:Nicksilva,

on parallels in the vise. Depending on what I'm doing I use a 1/16" ball nose, 1/16" flat end mill, 1/32" endmills, and a 20 degree engraving bit (v-bit).
