I created this for someone who's Brother is a Van Halen fan.

The black and white stripes are inlaid to a depth of .45 inches of the .5 material.
After the strips were cut individually, it took about 12 hours on the table to cut the channels for a non-overlapping group of strips, lay them in with color-matched adhesive and wait to dry, then move on the the next set of strips.
9 groups in all. Then I shaved the strips down to almost the surface, profiled to get it off the table, sanded it smooth several times while filling any adhesive voids on the edges of the strips, and finally brought it up to a nice finish.

Are you going to make a complete guitar with this or is it just for display? Corian is fairly heavy but this could be used as a laminate top layer on a wood block for a complete guitar build. Just say'in ...

Actually, this is a cutting board, approximately 18x12 total dimension.
Forgot to include that in the text...

Nice work - How come you made the stripes so deep [unless that was a typo] ?

I made them deep so that when the cutting board was viewed on the edge they would show almost full depth.
Once I put a radius on the edges for safe handling, they almost look like they go all the way through.

.45 on .5, they are almost all the way through !

Nice touch, and probably worth the extra effort, I love working with corian, very versatile material.
