Both look very cool - that brick pattern is incredibly aesthetically pleasing!

Pretty easy to make textures in Aspire, then save them to texture folder so they can be dragged into any project and snipped/adjusted just like any model.

Love them both. How big are they?

Stones is walnut, 7.5x7.5" about .8 thick.

Floyd is 11x11", .75 thick and its yellowheart and took 5 hours to machine, without a roughing pass. Without the background texture probably would have been half that, but I'm not complaining ... Details and lots of Z movement eats up time, and 11x11" is pretty decent sized.

I couldn't resist and I sharpied in the brick lines in black, not sure if I like it better or not, I'll post a pic later. I'll post the file too, I made it all myself and am pretty sure nothing copyrighted there.
Obviously the tongue is copyrighted, but simple enough for anyone to make if so inclined. I used to cut them out by the dozens as mirror hangers on a scroll saw before I even had a CNC.

Here is the lined in version, kinda wishing I would have left it alone. Bricks do look more like bricks I think, but seems to detract from thr lettering by drawing attention to them.
File is to big to post even zipped.

I agree with you...should have been left alone.
Sometimes really hard to tell until it's done though:(
Some of the best you've done! :)

Sharpie was overkill, probably at least should have used a fine tip to define/highlight the cracks instead of filling them in.

Nice. Love me some Pink Floyd.

I've been thinking about how to recreate the Dark Side of the Moon Pyramid out of acrylic with lights.

Would probably be fairly simple, paint acrylic blank black, etch in design, color in the colored light beams with paint pens. Might look better and brighter back lit instead of edge, paint tends to soak in light from the edge.

Edge lit plexi version done in 3/8", 8x8 with a nice walnut base.

Looks so-so, lettering is pretty jagged and I think I should have carved them a bit deeper.

sorry bout the sideways pics, these phone cams drive me nuts
