Here's a stool I just finished from the Russell Crawford plans. This is my first complete stool and I'm happy with how it came out but learned a bit so the next one should be even better. I had an issue with my blank size that resulted in the legs being just a bit too small but the epoxy took care of the problem from a strength perspective. The alpaca inlay was done using Russell's method as well, the stool is a gift for my wife to use when spinning yarn. I had planned for this one to be a practice piece but my wife says this is the one she wants, warts and all!
Wood is poplar, inlay is walnut. I have a set of leg blanks from maple ready to go for the next stool and a seat blank from walnut. A fun project and thanks so much to Russell for all the help, hints, and causing me to buy a new CNC machine, lol.

What a sweet sentimental wife:)
First time doing Anything is a learning experience
Nice job on the inlay, and I imagine you're second will be on the money.
Congrats!

Thanks for the nice comments. The "thing" next to the stool is a spinning wheel, it's a modern design made by a Dutch company called Louet. Should have mentioned this!

Sweet stool, Dave! And that high-tech spinning wheel. I notice that you're not to far from my location (Winchester, VA). I've been trying for a few months to get a CNC/Woodworking/Metalworking with a little
